This is the same server, the same accounts and the same characters as the downloadable client. Nothing here is a demo or a separate world — signing in below checks your password against the same row in the same table the login server reads.
The first launch pulls the game client into your browser and then starts streaming map, sprite and effect data on demand. Pre-renewal Midgard is roughly 2.9 GB of that data in total; you will never download all of it, but the first walk through a map you have not seen is the slow one. After that your browser has it cached.
Your password is sent to the control panel to sign you in, and held in this tab's memory only for as long as it takes to pass it to the game's own login step. It is never written to storage. Reload the page and the game will ask you for it again.
Prefer the real client? The Windows download is on the Download page, and it does not need WebGL.
Character creation and deletion happen at the client's own character screen, not here. A brand-new account arrives at that screen with nine empty slots.
